Ravi Teja Pericherla

Masters student

I’m a masters student at Monash studying environment and sustainability. With a background of mechanical engineering in my home country India, I’ve always been swayed towards practicality and developing solutions. This and my interest in broader societal issues have pushed me into the trajectory I’m currently on. With interest in conservation, international development, and political ecology I’m looking forward to gain more knowledge in these fields.

I’m currently doing research thesis in my masters in the field of threatened ecosystem management. With alpine peatlands ecosystem as the case study, I’m evaluating how well a rapid evidence review focused on effectiveness of conservation interventions would compare to a systematic review. This is part of a broader project that aims to develop a standardised rapid method to identify effective conservation actions.

Main research themes

  • Evidence-based conservation
  • Rapid evidence reviews
  • Threatened ecosystems
